AJ Tomaiolo Restaurant
411 W Main St, Northborough, Northborough,
The locals love AJ's...you can get a drink at the bar and then cruise into the dining room for American Italien family dining. Pasta dishes are the best. My family of 6 had dinner and drinks for $60...not bad.

Do not count on them for anything after 9:30PM. They said that they shut the oven and grill off. The gent was rude about it as well. They are usually nice, but They lost me as a customer. I suggest In the area, Northborough House of Pizza, and Monti's Pizza.

If you haven't tried the Chicago Hot Dog yet....its a must. It's the real deal with the ingredient from Chicago and special made poppy seed buns! The perfect place to go relax in the summer and sit out at the picnic tables. Be sure to finish with an ice cream cone!

Mikaku Japanese Restaurant
290 W Main St, Northborough, Northborough,
Oh boy sorry for your bad experience, but I have such a great food and great time there though. Give them one more try. By the way I love their dessert that white and dark chocco cake. It was so good. I found more review about them, check these out..from yelp... Hey come and get you hair done with us at NM. Went to Mikaku for lunch today and found it quite good. Everyone was pleasant and the place is decorated tastefully. Of course it was lunch and I had to get back to work so didnt make a complete pig of myself but the he fish was fresh and portions were very good especially for the price. Two of us ate well for under $40. They use miso paste in quite a few rolls which is a real treat and not overly common in sushi places. They have a crab roll with miso paste (I forgot the name of it) that was delicious and I highly recommend the Tiger Eye Maki, salmon and asparagus inside out rolled in panko, mmmmm good. They had a pretty extensive non-sushi menu too although I didnt eat anything other than sushi. I'll definitely return to try some of the other fare. After 6 years in metro-west I have a local sushi place (within 10 minutes of home) that makes the grade. Let's go over the check list: A+ grade sushi - check plus A+ sushi chefs - check plus Authentic non sushi entrees - check Top shelf wine list - check minus Top shelf sake list - check Clean and nice decor - check Fish was better than Fugakyu Cafe in Sudbury and better cut. I prefer thinner slices with more pieces. FC has the better decor but nod to Mikaku on fish and Japanese entrees. If Yama Zakura was your fish fix you need to step to Mikaku and have the real deal. Very interesting deserts: Green tea tiramisu, Japanese Chocolate Moose Cake, very light and not too sweet. Not so kewl: No Chirashi. Closed on Sundays. Mikaku is located across the street from Romaine's Recently heard about this new restaurant specializing in Japanese cuisine. We are sushi lovers so we're always interested in new places to try! What a pleasant surprise to find this gem so close to home! I intended to write this as soon as I got home, but failed to do so. My memory may lapse a bit in terms of the actual entrees offered, but the overall impression of good eats lingers on. Among us we sampled a good variety of appetizers including a very light and mouth watering gyozo, an array of maki rolls and nigiri. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful and the presentation was elegant. One of our party had a full course meal. Again, the quality was superb, the presentation sophisiticated. The ambience was very pleasant...small, intimate, but friendly and contemporary. The only criticism we had was that the restaurant is set so far back in the plaza that we could easily have missed it had we not seen the advertising in the Worcester paper! Thus my motivation for writing this review. This is a stop not to be missed!!
